Out of The PIT

I was woken up by what I thought was a cry from my child. I rolled over to my right to see her toddling up to the bed. But upon closer inspection it was not my child at all, but a small tablet on a very small child's body. The screen was on and was facing me. The tablet was showing the face of a woman with short wavy dark hair. She looked at me with her imploring eyes before they started rolling up into her head. Her white orbs stared at me when.. MJNL nudged me awake. "EYS is calling for you," she mumbled as she fell back to sleep on her side of the bed. I quickly looked to my right over the side of the bed. The floor was empty. In the distance, I could hear the faint whimper of a toddler calling out for her daddy. I slipped out of bed, to continue my parental duty to care for my child, wondering what it was I had just witnessed.

I was a recruit; part of a force that was invading some alien structure or planet. I was with team of ten or so other recruits lead by an army veteran who was training us. We were all issued standard space uniforms as well as energy rifles. The enemies we were facing were all humanoids that were dressed in green garb and were easy to take down. I entered the room that I was assigned to and quickly dispatched the occupant before it had a chance to fire back. Mind you, our main invasion force had already gone ahead and cleared out the bulk of the enemy forces. We were just there for cleanup. As we cleared the level, we began to muster in the foyer area. The room was large, spartan, and brightly lit by white light from the walls and ceiling. Our squad, led by our team leader, was lined up in single file on one of the many elevated platforms in the foyer. There were dozens of other squads in the area, all recruits, all lined up in single file waiting for the order to advance to the next ...

I found myself walking through a crowd into an airport. I was looking for the computer room so that I could.. well, do computery things. However, every time I tried to compare the map that I had with the room layout, I could not seem to find a way into the computer room. It took a while of poking around the area to realize that the computer room was actually inaccessible normally even though it was on the map. It was JW who was able to find someone to lead us to the entrance for the room. I was not there when he was shown the door, but I was able to get in before they closed the door to the room. I could not remember much about the room itself except that there was a lot of boxes that you needed to hop on to get deeper into the room. Higher and higher the boxes went. I mentally thought that it would make it very difficult for zombies to ever catch anyone hiding in here and realizing that I may have tempted fate, I went out to the one of the waiting areas to look outside at one of the...

I had a dream on the weekend where I came across this small bunny rabbit, that looked more like a stuffed animal that was really thin and looked so hungry. It looked like a tube with bunny features as it was six inches long and only a couple of inches wide. The rabbit had just caught a small insect and ate it, but looked too tired and hungry to do much, so I went up to it and picked it up with my left hand. It struggled for a bit but after it calmed down tried suckling on my thumb. After realizing that was going no where, tried suckling on one of the buttons on my shirt. This also proved fruitless for the rabbit and it started to cry with such a sorrowful wail that I decided to find some nourishment for the critter. MJNL and I got into the car and I drove to a nearby mall, which was jam packed with cars and people. I was able to squeak into one of the short term parking spots and told the bunny that we'd be right back. I quickly rushed into the mall, which had a strange pyram...

I had a dream last night where MJNL and I were on a roller coaster. It was a fairly tame one, and at the end of the ride, there was a lamp post with a free ticket attached to the lamp portion. Those daring enough could try to stand up to grab the ticket, and I tried my luck. Unfortunately even after standing up and reaching up I was still a few feet too short, and jumping would have been too dangerous, so I just let it slide. After we got off the ride, we went into the shop to look for trinkets, and a group of other people came in with the lead guy waving the free ticket. Apparently he had climbed up the pole to grab the ticket, so I went outside to look and noticed that the pole wasn't that high up after all and anyone could have done the same thing.

I'm not sure if this was related to my recent flat, or my recent rear-ender, but I was dreaming that I was driving my car or some sort of dirt path that was on an embankment. The embankment was sloped so that going up the path had the embankment sloping down to the left. I drove up the embankment to the top and turned around, waited for another car to come up and started to drive back down. Unfortunately, the driver side wheels slipped off the path and the car rolled over to the left, again, and again. I dragged the car back upright but the fuel tank was hanging out and loose and I knew that I would not be able to drive the car without some serious repairs. I looked back at the path on the embankment and saw how steep the drop off was from the path and wondered how I ended up damaging the car so much after I had recently got the bumper fixed. Annoying!

I had a strange dream this morning. I recall running around with MJNL inside a game. It felt like an enclosed area, except I couldn't see the ceiling and to my right were boxes that reminded me of Minecraft. To my left it looked like a curved wall that looked like the night sky except it had text being displayed repeatedly in large block letters. There was an announcement that the game was changing and those that were still inside would need to get out, or bad things would happen. MJNL and I were running to find some sort of shelter and came across furniture and other box like objects that were stacked in various large orderly piles and I directed MJNL to climb up on the tallest one. I was hoping that we'd be able to keep ourselves save at the top by having the high ground. Unfortunately, as we hopped from box to cushioned crate, I realized how unstable the structure was, as it wobbled and shook with every step we took.
