Out to Costco again.
Toilet paper is on sale this month and I wanted to pick up at least one pack before the sale was over. This time I called ahead to confirm that the store had some (as they were sold out online) and found out that yes, there was stock in store. So I grabbed my mask, and headed out the door.
Now I have not been detailing my grocery runs, but they usually involve going through a long shopping list, loading all of the goods into the car, sometimes going to another store, and filling the trunk to the brim. All the while wiping down anything and everything that might get contaminated.
Once I get home, we wipe down everything. We don't go as far as washing our vegetables with soap, but when you are dealing with hundreds of dollars of groceries, it is a lot of wiping and a lot of cleaning (as the door handles, surfaces, floor, etc. all need to be disinfected). I also have to throw all of my clothes into the wash immediately and shower. So my grocery runs usually last three to four hours.
I wanted to keep this latest run to at most two hours. I.. think I got close. But as with anything Costco, you never leave with just one thing..
Firstly, the lineup to get into the store was long. Fortunately, there was a limit on how much toilet paper could be purchased at one go and thus there was quite a supply inside. While I was there, I stocked up on other stuff that I had missed out on my prior trips: soap, rice, broth, tuna, condiments, etc. I also picked up some other stuff that seemed with getting: cereal, croissants, ribs, milk, more ribs, etc.
You never leave Costco with just one thing. Or in my case, a dozen.
I hope I don't have to go back to a while. It was cold standing in line outside. But the toilet paper run was successful.
